Lifesprk Supports the ALS Association of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota with the #StrikeOut #IceBucketChallenge
You’ve been challenged to pour a bucket of freezing ice cold water on your head by a friend, colleague or perhaps a member of the #LifesprkALS team.
Why? And where did this challenge start? The idea was started by the family of 29-year old Pete Frates, a member of the ALS Association of Massachusetts battling the disease, as a creative way to raise awareness and money for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig’s. The challenge has gone socially viral across the country and internationally.
As a partner of the ALS Associaltion of Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota chapter, our Lifesprk team has decided to take on the challenge in full Lifesprk fashion with a Mob #PourOn! including our CEO/Founder Joel Theisen, RN. We are committed to sparking the lives of our clients and taking an active step in joining the conversation to raise awareness for our partners and the clients/families we serve with ALS.
So now, we’re throwing out the challenge to all our families, friends, colleagues and partners. Ice bucket challenge anyone? Pour On!
Here’s how you take the challenge:
1. Fill a bucket of ice and a fill a second bucket with water.
2. Have someone videotape you (with smart phone) and say, “I’m participating in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Thank you (whoever challenged you), I accept this challenge and nominate X, Y, Z (name 2-3 people).” You have 24 hours to complete this challenge or donate to ALS.
3. Put the ice into the bucket of water and dump it over your head.
4. Then post the video to your Facebook page tagging the people you’ve nominated and those who’ve challenged you. And, don’t forget to consider donating to ALS — that’s the most important part of this effort.
